The Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens had been closed since the start of lockdown. Finally the news broke that they would open again on 3 August 2020. I couldn’t wait to visit again, walk the familiar paths, and meet the new baby eagle that had hatched during lockdown. I visited 2 days after they opened.
