Kingfishers

In addition to the many Woodland Kingfishers that I saw, I saw a few of the other species as well. On the sunset drive on the Sunday Evening I saw my first Giant Kingfisher. I saw him again the next day, but these were the only two sightings I had of this one. Giant Kingfisher Giant Kingfisher

I saw a few Pied Kingfishers, but most of the time they just flew past like rockets or were too far away for photos. The fourth kingfisher species I saw was the Brown hooded kingfisher.

Korhaan

We saw a couple of Red-crested Korhaans during our birding drives with the Honorary Rangers. A couple of days later I saw one hiding in the grass.Red crested Korhaan

I was driving back to camp o the S131 when I saw a male and female sneaking across the road. I wonder if they think that if they walk in slow motion in open areas they won’t be seen? It is so cute to watch them sneak on their tippy toes!Red-crested Korhaans

Kudu

I am really surprised at how few Kudus I saw. I think I saw less than 10 during the entire trip. But the couple of photos I managed once again confirms that these animals are very pretty.KuduKudu Kudu
