Kruger is known for the Big 5, but there are so many small creatures that are equally impressive.
I can‘t visit Kruger without going scorpion hunting. Satara camp is a great camp to find these creatures.
At Tamboti I found a few smaller scorpions.
But there was also this monster.
There were lots of butterflies about. This is a beautiful African Caper White female.
Driving around you can find many interesting small things. I found the chameleon on the Rabalais loop. The rainy weather brought out many millipedes. I also saw a few dung beetles.
I am always astonished at the size of the African Snail. This one in Skukuza was as big as my fist.
But the weirdest creature by far was this moth at Satara. It is possibly an Amata alicia moth. It looks as if it is man-made. The metallic colours made it look like a little radio operated bug.
