It was a warm day, and there was not a lot of activity – neither from the eagles nor the other birds. Motsumi only did a few short flights and hopped around for a bit. He really is a gorgeous bird!Verreauxs Eagle Verreauxs Eagle

In this photo you can get a good view of his powerful claws – really impressive.Verreauxs Eagle

On the way back I looked for some bugs and things. I found two small Highveld Thicktail Scorpions.

It was a quiet morning on all aspects. A Brown-hooded Kingfisher posed near the restaurant. Brown hooded Kingfisher Brown hooded Kingfisher

The eagles were also a little lazy, and I only got a few photos of Motsumi.

Despite the quiet morning, There were a few highlights – I saw the European Bee-eaters and my first Lesser Striped Swallows of the summer. A big highlight was a new garden bird – a little Long-billed Crombec was flitting around on the rocks above the waterfall.
