As soon as you have booked your trip, the feeling of anticipation starts building. But there is nothing like the excitement that explodes inside you when you approach Kruger and the gate comes into sight. My heart starts beating as I drive up to the gate and get out of my car get my entry permit. Then I drive into the Park and let out a sigh of relief, giggle with joy and “close the door” behind me. Now it is just me and the Park. That excited feeling of not knowing what you will see first, and not really caring what you see first, because all that matters is that you are in Kruger! That excited feeling stays with you throughout your stay – when you turn onto a road, when you wake up every morning – you have no idea what the next moment and day will bring.
