Yellow

Kruger is filled with things that are yellow. The only yellow thing I did not see was a yellow ribbon!

Southern Yellow billed HornbillOther than the Yellow-billed Kites and Yellow-billed Storks I’ve already mentioned, I also many other “yellow” birds. And of course, Yellow goes hand in hand with Red and Grey – I also saw a few Southern Red-billed Hornbills and African Grey Hornbills as well.

Yellow billed OxpeckerI also saw many Yellow-billed Oxpeckers in the Letaba area. While I was at the Nwanetsi waterhole, there were a few on a Giraffe. This photo may be a bit … mmmm … “intimate”, but it shows just how thorough these little birds can be!

And as with the hornbills, you can’t mention Yellow without mentioning Red. The Red-billed Oxpeckers are much more numerous than their cousins.

I also saw some Yellow-fronted Canaries and a Yellow-throated Petronia. There were little yellow flowers everywhere, like little spots of sunshine in the green bush.Yellow Flower
